Ford has pulled the plug on a planned joint venture to build electric vehicles with China’s Zotye Automobile, the U.S. car maker said yesterday.
Explaining the U-turn after four years of talks, Ford said China’s electric vehicle industry and policies had undergone major changes since the agreements were signed prompting Ford’s decision.
The UK new light commercial vehicle market enjoyed growth in the first month of the year, said the Society of Motor Manufacturers and Traders.
Registrations rose 2.0% in January with 24,029 of the latest, low emission vehicles hitting UK roads as new models and deals drove fleet renewal as home delivery orders accelerated.
IAM RoadSmart’s annual Safety Culture Report, which tracks drivers’ changing attitudes to key road safety issues over time, discovered that three in four motorists (75 per cent) now perceive potholes to be a bigger issue for road users than they were three years ago.
This was followed by driver distraction (68 per cent) – such as texting or talking on a mobile phone – and traffic congestion (65 per cent).
