The sixth generation Honda Prelude was shown in Britain for the first time this week at the Goodwood Festival of Speed.
The 2.0 litre petrol electric hybrid sports coupe resurrects the Prelude nameplate which ran from 1978 to 2001 in Britain and the newcomer is expected go on UK sale in Spring 2025, possibly with a four-wheel-drive transmission.
Long-distance electric-only journeys are becoming easier with the introduction of the Volkswagen ID.7 Pro S Match and ID.7 Tourer Pro S Match (below).
The addition of ‘Pro S’ to existing Volkswagen ID.7 models introduces a bigger battery and faster charging so the new ID.7 Pro S Match models have an 86 kWh battery, compared with the 77 kWh battery in the ID.7 Match versions and up to 437 miles for the fastback and 425 miles for the Tourer (above) and they cost £55,450 and £56,140 on-the-road.
The fourth-generation Bentley Continental GT Speed will make its global public debut at this week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed beginning today.
The V8 782ps petrol hybrid GT Speed PHEV has a top speed of 208mph, develops 1,000Nm torque and costs from £230,500 with another £25,000 for the Convertible and a range of specially equipped and trimmed models taking it to ten versions in all.
Lexus has slashed thousands of pounds from the prices of most of its line-up.
Most notable cut is the price of its entry-level electric model, the UX 300e, by up to £7100 so the range now starts at £40,795, its EV stablemate the RZ 450e has been cut to £57,895 for the standard car, £2100 less than what it was in April and at the top of the line-up hybrid NX 450h+ and flagship RX 450h+, which are the brand’s most expensive PHEVs, have been cut from £54,950 to £49,995 and from £67,100 to £63,995 respectively.
