With the legislated transition to clean-air powertrains looming many businesses are looking to swap their commercial fleets to electric, but there’s a looming problem.
There’s a barrier currently, which is that most drivers take these vehicles home at night and finding safe and reliable charging is difficult.
Broker JustPark finds a homeowner with a driveway within a short walk of the fleet driver, installing charging hardware, and giving them a reliable and guaranteed place to charge.
It’s a win-win for the driver and business but also for the homeowner, who through hosting these fleet drivers and vehicles, could earn £1,000 a year. The JustPark team will look after the hosts, providing and paying for the installation of a charging unit and all costs.
Mike Strahlman, Director of EV, JustPark, said, “The transition to an electric car is much harder for anyone who can’t charge reliably at home, company car driver or not.
“Understandably, many motorists wouldn’t even consider it. With FleetCharge now offering a reliable, guaranteed overnight charging solution for those who can’t plug in at home, it promises to make the jump to an electric car much more attainable for a whole range of business users.
“Plus, for hosts, the guaranteed monthly income could help households who are feeling the pinch due to rising living costs.”
