Research into night time driving from Confused.com reveals almost a third (30%) of women avoid driving at night, compared to just 16% of men. Ahead of the clocks going back this Sunday, turning the evening commute darker for drivers, research from Confused.com reveals car accidents peak during the evening rush 4pm – 8pm. According to new Freedom of Information data, last year alone saw 55,441 accidents take place during the rush-hour period (4-8pm). M4 speed cameras snap hundreds of drivers
M4 speed cameras around Newport have caught almost 250 people in the first three days since enforcement was introduced last week. Cameras cover the stretch from junction 24 (Coldra) to junction 28 (Tredegar Park) and the system was introduced in 2011 but was inactive for five years - fines have only been issued since 10 October. The number of people caught illegally driving in Cardiff bus lanes has fallen by nearly 1000 tickets in September compared to August. Only 6, 151 tickets were issued in September compared to 7, 116 in August but the number of tickets issued for stopping illegally in yellow box junctions has increased from 145 issued in August to 519 in September.
